40 citizens speak out for the Arlington Urban Forest

An ad hoc group of citizens concerned with tree preservation in Arlington named the Arlington Tree Action Group is raising awareness in the community. Like a growing number of Arlingtonians, they are very concerned about the rapid pace of tree removals on public and private lands. At a July meeting of more than 40 Arlington residents and organizations actively involved with tree preservation, there was strong, unanimous support for the proposition that trees should be protected through all possible public and private channels. They agreed to continue to meet and support initiatives that lead to action.  For more information about ATAG and this meeting go to their Facebook page and, in a week, their website will be online at arlingtontreeactiongroup.org with much more information and resources.
